DIY: 12 Ways to Make a Burlap Bow, Part 4

Today, I will feature part 4 of a 12-week DIY series that focuses on making burlap bows. I am joining the Creative Corner Hop blog link-up at Cherished Treasures, as are many talented do-it-yourselfers; be sure to hop on over and visit a few other creative projects there today!

Today's project will focus on this bow..
This bow is easy, easy, easy to make. As you can tell, I am wrapping a small present. My previous bows were featured on larger items such as wreaths and a large gift. For this one, I needed something small to adorn the very top of a small gift. So it is simple, as it should be!

I am using these items...
To begin, wrap the curling ribbon around the package. This will serve as the base for the bow. Tie the ribbon securely in a double knot on top of the package.
Next, cut two small strips of burlap ribbon. It helps if one strip is slightly shorter than the other.

Stack the two burlap strips on top of each other, and cinch the ribbon in the center.
Lay this on top of the base knot, and pull the curling ribbon around both sides. Tie it securely with a double knot in the middle.
Fluff the strips slightly, and then use scissors to add a little flourish in the curling ribbon.

That's all! Short, sweet, and delightful! You can use this same technique with larger gifts as well, but this simple style is generally more appropriate for smaller items since you only need a little accent for those.
Happy wrapping! :)
